The countdown is on to the Chronicle’s second Community Family Fun Day in Crewe.

In association with Everybody Leisure, the community day takes place on Sunday, September 4 at the Lifestyle Centre from 11am-4pm and is part of our 18 month Pride of Crewe campaign.

The day promises to be a great event for all the family and has already received massive support from lots of organisations across the town including The Swansway Group, Mornflake, Bentley Motors and Crewe Town Council.

There will be performances and demonstrations from Team Chongi, Matrix Cheer and Catherine Fraser School of Irish Dance and stalls and stands including Men in Sheds, Motherwell CIC and MMU.

There will be plenty to do for all the family and lots of goodies and giveaways – entry is also free.

The emphasis is on providing a fun, interactive day for all the family and we are inviting all Crewe based organisations to take part.

Crewe community reporter Leanne Palin said: “We are really excited about the Community Fun day. It is the perfect opportunity to bring the community of Crewe together and celebrate all that is good about the town. Feedback on last year’s event was extremely positive and we are hoping to build on that success to make it even better this year.

“I have lived in Crewe all my life and there are lots of things to be proud of here, especially our community spirit – this has been shown by the great support received in preparation for the event.”

Last year the day featured a ‘Mascot’s Dance Off’ with organisations entering their furry friends into a competition to reign supreme. This year entries have been put forward by organisations and business including Swansway, Matrix, Everybody and Bumblebee Digital.
